ESPLUGUES TRAIN FESTIVAL
The Esplugues Train Festival, a large public event, open to all, will take place in the Poliesportiu La Plana d’Esplugues (sports centre).
Exhibition of modular railway models with the participation of different associations from all over Catalonia, miniature train for carrying passengers, vintage trains with steam locomotives and modern trains (Trams, Metro…), display of handcrafted models.

06.A – Day outing to Lleida and La Pobla de Segur. Travel by AVE (high speed train) from Barcelona to Lleida and then continue on the Tren dels Llacs (lake railway) to La Pobla de Segur. The train is first pulled by a steam locomotive called “Garrafeta” between Lleida and Balaguer, and then by two “Ye-Ye” diesel locomotives from Balaguer to La Pobla de Segur.
An unforgettable trip, with vintage rolling stock, through the countryside of Lleida to Pre-pyrenean lakes: after leaving Segrià, we cross the Noguera and Montsec rivers and reach into the heart of the Pallars Jussà region.
Return to Lleida on the Tren dels Llacs with diesel traction and then the AVE to Barcelona.
Lunch included.

07.A – Spend the day in the Vilanova i la Geltrú Railroad Museum, L9 of the Barcelona Metro and the facilities of the Barcelona Association of Railroad Friends.
This Museum owes its existence to the 19th MOROP Congress held in Barcelona in 1972. The collection of material that took place in Vilanova at that time was the embryo of today’s museum.
Travel by scheduled RENFE train to Vilanova i la Geltrú for a guided tour of the Museum. Attend the ceremony of mutual recognition between MOROP and the Museum as co-host of the Congress, with the presence of the Managing Director of the Spanish Railways Foundation, the Director of the Vilanova i la Geltrú Railway Museum and the municipal authority of Vilanova i la Geltrú.
Lunch at the Museum.
In the afternoon, return to Barcelona by scheduled train and visit Line 9 of the Barcelona Metro. Reception by the Barcelona City Council and then travel to the Estació de França (France station) to visit the facilities of the Barcelona Association of Railroad Friends.
All trips in Barcelona will be in vintage buses.

08.A – Around Catalonia on five trains.
Leave Barcelona in the morning by scheduled RENFE (Spanish railways) train headed for Sabadell, Terrassa and Sant Vicenç de Castellet. In Sant Vicenç de Castellet visit the facilities of ASVICAF – Sant Vicenç de Castellet Association of Railroad Friends to see various miniature train models all built to scale. Reception by the municipal authorities of Sant Vicenç de Castellet, as co-host of the Congress.
We will then proceed to the FGC station of Sant Vicenç de Castellet where a vintage train with wooden carriages pulled by the “Patxanga” electric locomotive will take us to Monistrol de Montserrat. Here we will visit the Rack Railway Museum before travelling up to the Monastery on the Montserrat rack railway.
Lunch at Montserrat.
Our return to Monistrol will be aboard a vintage train pulled by the steam locomotive “Monistrol” to Martorell Enllaç, where we will change to a modern train for Barcelona.

09.A – Visit to the Alstom Factory and the Palau railroad.
Travel by coach to Santa Perpètua de Mogoda to visit the Alstom factory before continuing to the Palau Solità i Plegamans model railway circuit. Here we will make a stop to see 10-inch gauge locomotives and trains in operation with the participation of the local Palau railroad association and the CEMFES – railroad modelling centre of Sabadell and the CEMVB – Centre for steam modelling studies of Barcelona, operators of the railway circuits in Parc de Catalunya in Sabadell and Parc de l’Oreneta in Barcelona. Reception by the municipal authorities of Palau Solità i Plegamans, as co-host of the Congress.
Free trips on the trains.
Lunch at Parc de l’Hostal del Fum.
Return to the hotel in the mid-afternoon.
09.B – Congress Closing Dinner, in the evening, in a restaurant in Esplugues, attended by all participants in the congress, municipal authorities, and the presidents of MOROP and FCAF.

10.A – Trip to Núria.
Travel from Barcelona to Ribes de Freser by scheduled RENFE train and connect the Núria rack railway to Ribes Vila. Visit the Núria Rack Railway Museum. Then travel from Ribes Vila to Núria on the rack railway.
The Vall de Núria, of unique natural and scenic richness, is located in the Eastern Pyrenees in the municipality of Queralbs. It dominates one of the highest points of the Ribes valley, surrounded by peaks reaching almost 3,000 meters in height and where a multitude of springs and streams are born.
Free time to enjoy the surroundings, take the cable car to Àliga peak, walk around the lake, etc.
Lunch in Núria, self-service.
In the afternoon, return by rack railway to Ribes Enllaç and on to Barcelona by scheduled RENFE train.
